San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory is the 6 th oldest youth orchestra program in the United States , serving over 450 students between the ages of 8 and 25. Concerts are performed at Copley Symphony Hall and rehearsals are held in Balboa Park and the San Diego Musicians Union.

The San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory instills excellence in the musical and personal development of students through rigorous and inspiring musical training experiences.

 

We pursue this mission by

  • Interacting with all musical communities to broaden cultural horizons
  • Embracing the diversity of current and prospective students
  • Enriching the community through programs and collaborations that increase access to and appreciation of classical music

 

We are seeking a Grant Writer to research potential sources of income from Foundations and Businesses and to write the grant and sponsorship applications. We wish to generate new income from these sources. This would involve submitting grant and sponsorship applications of at least $100,000 per annum.

 

The candidate would be hired as an independent contractor on a monthly retainer and would be required to submit a monthly activity report to the President and CEO.
