New Village Arts Theatre ( Carlsbad )
Love is always worth fighting
for… American playwright Clifford Odets crafted this 1930's
love story about a classically trained violinist with a unique
attribute: the skill and strength to become the lightweight
champion of the world. In a New York City dominated by Odets'
quirky characters and street poetry, he must choose between
the fists and the fiddle, the glamorous and the gutsy, what
he needs and the woman he wants.

This
is a Page to Stage workshop production, the new play development
program. Los Angeles , 2007...Charlayne Woodard has a wonderful
husband, a well-dressed dog named Atticus Finch and a glowing
career as an actress and playwright. She also has 30 kids.
As their beloved "Auntie," Charlayne shepherds her
brood of children through the perils of modern childhood with
an open heart and a ready ear. Overloaded with information
in a world that challenges them to grow up too quickly, Charlayne's
kids find a safe haven in which to open up, give themselves
a break and just be themselves. Meet these remarkable kids
through Charlayne's delightful and touching stories of their
greatest fears and personal triumphs. Acting as their confidant,
number one fan and coach, Charlayne provides what all children
should have in their lives — a loving mentor who puts dreams
in their heads, keeps their secrets and protects them in an
uncertain world. Written by and Starring Charlayne Woodard.

Robert
Dubac's Male Intellect: The 2 nd Coming!
Miracle
Theatre Productions
at
Lyceum Stage Theatre (Downtown)
Note:
Contains some adult language; not appropriate for children
under 14.
“Robert
Dubac's Male Intellect: The 2nd Coming!” is the long awaited
sequel to “The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?” starring Bob
Dubac in a tour de force performance that is hilarious and
provocative. Dubac again plays a crazy cast of characters
but this time he's not just trying to figure out what women
want, he's also diving head first into the hypocrisies of
society in search of “the bigger picture.” If you like your
satire served up with a clever, intelligent edge; if you want
to hear a voice that speaks as though it originated from inside
your own frustrated head; don't miss “Robert Dubac's Male
Intellect: The 2nd Coming!”
